Borrowed my neighbours to get last bit done because its lighter than a rear discharge. Forgotten how easy they drive and on well rotted was doing a grand job then the welds went on the rotor drive after 5 loads :banghead:. Haven’t borrowed a machine for years. Never a good phone call.

Not everything goes right. Here's one for the haters!

Had a cock up when fluke dosing the ewes a month ago... I found 1 weakness in the Alligator :bag: and to be fair, it's the 1 thing I've always thought seemed a bit poor/weak design.

The guillotine gate which is just 2 vertical bars... On the last day dosing, I had a fat ChevX ewe charge at it the 20ft length of the dosing race, full pelt... well it didn't stop her. She smashed clean through and just kept running 🤦‍♂️:banghead::ROFLMAO:

Because there's no bracing straps it flexes too much when a sheep hits it or pushes against it, stressing the welds. She burst 1 weld, but the other bar you could see stress cracks (both were a little bent already just from use).

But, i've a friend can weld Aluminium so he touched up the welds and we modified with 2 bracing straps. It can now carry my weight with no flex movement in the bars at all. Simple mod, which should last (y)

Glad its not just me that's got some chevis that can set off in full gallop from a stand still in the race🤣 , wish mine had only took the the gate out instead of head on, still missing a couple of teeth

I'd rather she lost some teeth and thought about what she done instead of unlocking the gate :ROFLMAO::facepalm:

I knew it was coming. She was first into the race but nothing followed her... then she backed up right to the end then charged. She didn't get dosed that day :ROFLMAO:

Behaved fine at scanning though

I thought it was @Gator that had lost the teeth, looking back it could be either him or the ewe!

Dragged this old trailer chassis into the shed this afternoon with a feeling of creativity...
IMG_20210114_140129_564.jpg

So I hit it with the angle grinder and welder
IMG_20210114_141001_083.jpg

Simple cut n paste. Reposition the rear section of the frame to make a headboard...
IMG_20210114_155652_568.jpg

Then add some side rails...

IMG_20210114_161838_704.jpg

And before you know it, you've got a bale buggy.

The side rails are 3ft, bale is obviously 4ft... designed so I can just flip the bale off up the hill myself.
Those tyres are knackered (better ones are beside it in the pics, just need to swap them over) and I've a few lightweight cargo ratchet straps so I'll put one over the bale to stop it falling off.

Going to make a box area in the frame Infront of the headboard. I've left it the size it is to accommodate 25l drums... which I can fill with molasses for pouring on the bale
