TexX ewes - which Tup to use?

3 days to go.

Went round the ewes after the rugby this evening, to find this girl had lambed in one of the most exposed places she could find... Triplets. 1 dead when I found them, 1 sitting with its head up, but the wind and rain was pulling it down. The 3rd laid out not much life, very cold. No idea how long they were born, its hard to tell in the rain...

Fetched her in, tubed both lambs and left them under the heatlamp. That was around 6pm. Back in at 10pm expecting the poorer one to either be dead or needing tubed again and in the heatbox over night.

Much to my surprise, both were up and going. The ewes bag sucked and both lambs full as barrels.

Oh aye, she is a Lleyn in the batch not due to start lambing for 2 weeks...

Loving the mineral tub as sheep feeder Nithy. Quality plastic durability and economy. (y) Got a tower of them here on standby. Like the one's with the handles as you don't have to lean too far into the pen to feed the ewe , saving time and labour costs. (y)(y)

Mony's a mickle mak's a muckle......:)(y)

When you buy a pallet load most years... you look for uses for the damned things!

Those red Downland Opti-lix tubs are just the perfect size. And have a handle, too(y)

We have some quite old Lachlan McGreggor buckets, with proper metal handles. I stash them away as they really are good buckets.

1 day to go :bag:

I have now given up thinking I have sheep figured out. The ewe which lambed on Sunday is from the batch due to start between the 10th and 15th...

Another 2 have lambed this morning in this batch, with another searching the dyke backs - so I reckon she is pretty close to dropping too (n)

Decent strong lambs, ewes with plenty milk. My home mix feed must be doing something right! So far, signs are I was as well not bothering adding Soya to the feed, as suggested, as it's not needed. The hill ewes are thinner so time may tell with them...

This girl is a 2012 born 3/4 lleyn

The TexX ewes, are massive. Looking ready to burst... but sure, they are not for letting me see their lambs
