I don't think they're that bad. Ok some of them are if you could find the old fashioned type that were like improved Welsh but had a lot more lambs I think you'd like them as well (I don't know what sort of farm you have though) But they are very hard to find now. Some of the ones with texel in them are quite good but don't have as many lambs as they should I find and they don't hold condition as well as you'd expect. The really big lanky mule type are just awful sheep all round. A bit like a white blue face Leicester.It's difficult to know how much Texel has been used to create a more acceptable Lleyn. There is a case for using Lleyns over first-time lambers, but they have little other advantage.
