Was away helping a friend PD, bolus and fluke dose 90 cattle on Wednesday and back curling Wed night (good win in a league comp - even if we didn't play that well - I was shattered... game was broadcast live on YouTube 🙈).
90 cows; 3 empty (2 of which he hoped were and 1 he was sure was as everything was jumping her in the shed)

Back on the yard repairs at home yesterday and today. Ripped a trench out and got a pipe laid, backfilled and subbase graded over and packed in.

Hopefully that keeps it all shored up for a few more years

Not to cause too much excitement but....

I pulled off the Beltex tups today 😏

Not sure they're happy with me

Tups have been in 30 days, decided it was more than long enough. 60/60 lambs are marked (35-40 would be done in the first 14days) so it'll be interesting to see how many hold come scanning.

They're in good fettle, but should be with the bit of feed and plenty grass Infront of them. Will stop feeding them now and just try keeping them on the best grass

3 pure Texels are doing well, very pleased how they're coming on (middle one is probably poorest)

Some nice IAE yard gates sitting there. More work on?
Just finished a shed upgrade here using them. Decent value for money I reckon

They're just what JSF send out if you ask for field gates.

Nothing planned, just general maintenance - 1 gate is a straight swap needs replaced as it's rotting out, the other gate is to go across a road (something which should have been done about 20yr ago). There's 10 creosoted gate posts and 100 cundy stobs laying there too...
winter jobs, replacing stobs I put in 14yr ago. Thankfully it's just double barb up dyke backs so easy enough job. But there's gateposts needing done too. The creosoted posts are (supposedly) guaranteed for 40yrs so here's hoping it won't be me replacing them next time

Have you got your new stock trailer yet?!
Still a long long wait if you want a new iw,

You're keener than me to get it 🤣 not yet

Salesman phoned me on Friday afternoon. He said they had 2 shipments of trailers coming from Nugent - the first load which was 14' trailers came in the week before last, so he is hoping the 12 footers might be this week

Well the worst bit is I actually can't remember the price 🤣 haven't been billed yet

I think the Nugent is stronger than new Ifors but I guess I won't know til I use it. I got told Ifors are all made in China these days - they're only assembled in Wales, but I don't know how true that is 🤷🏻‍♂️
