kynetec give me £30 of m&s vouchers for my time in completing paper based records and questionnaire (old local chap takes print outs and gets paid aswell). is there anything comparable here reward wise for submitting.

i get a benchmarking report back and find it of limited use

Personally I would rather have information that might help me run my business than m&s vouchers

Knowledge is power ? I would rather run a business that makes enough money to buy a lot more than a few vouchers. Knowledge is an investment of your time

However I'm sure if you get in contact with them and answer a lot of questions that others want to know the answers to they would probably be quite happy to pay you for your time. I get phone calls all the time along those lines

what im saying is i already get a good chunk of that information back on input spend etc in a report, i dont do it for the vouchers, but i do find i get as much out of what listening to what questions the "big trade boys" are asking as it gives you an idea of where the industry is heading.

perhaps the vouchers will go if this takes off !

I fill in several kynetec reports for several of my farms and, sorry I disagree I find the info sent back to the client fairly useful as it shows farm position on spend as a %age for all crops, I suppose it is nice to know info but cannot alter business survival!

this will close soon and the first set of results / "grains of thought" will be produced and made available to those that participated.

round 2 will then open with some more comparisons, those that did part 1 won't need to answer questions about their farm location etc but anyone who missed part one can still take part in future rounds

so if you want to get the first set of results get on with it now, takes about 5mins max to do

Hi Clive, is the process open to ROI members or just the UK? Sounds like a good idea to me.

Everyone who took part in the first round of this should now have an email inviting them to round 2 which has some questions so we can benchmark yields and a few input prices

the link is personal so you dont have to answer the questions re your farm location / type etc again, so follow that link and spend 3 minutes answering

for anyone that didn't do the first round you can still join but will need to follow this link

Unfortunately not enough TFF members took part in the first round to make creation of a personalised result relevant, (ie there was not enough data to make comparison by area or farm size valid or useful) Hope is this can build some momentum and we will be able to achieve that, I still believe this has potential to be very useful tool for us all but if we don't get enough participation the idea will be dropped as we cant put resources into stuff that doesn't get enough use

Done. Quite a small selection of wheat varieties. My combining costs are £56/ha but that's based on overstated depreciation in my accounts

How come I haven't had any results from first round?

We didn't get big enough number doing it to make result by area / farm type etc mean anything in a personal report like we had planned

We have already started threads based on the overall results re the input spend and britexit question and will publish the full set here later this week

It's not going to work as planned with personalised reports unless we start getting more responses, hope is momentum will build but if it doesn't I'm afraid the idea is a dead duck !

Might it be an idea to take screen shots of this round's questions and post them up in here, so the sceptics can see that it's not exactly taxing? You might get some more participants then...

will do later - off to have a play with the Co6 ULD conversion this morning and see if all that workshop time has paid off !

Also if you fill it in, don't forget to save your own answers for comparison later when the results are released.

When we get enough doing this to make the personalised dashboard / report work you wont need to remember as your answers will be displayed alongside those of others by area / farm size / type etc

just need enough of us doing this to make that happen though !
