Don’t suppose he was Felix Francis, from Bloxham was he?
If so, he was not only right about the rule of 3, but now writes really good books, the most recent being one that @Danllan would probably enjoy: Guily, Not Guilty .... Who do you believe?
His best ever IMO.

PS. In another of his books, Damage, he has another rule of 3 called the 3 ages of sex:
1 is when you 1st meet and have sex everywhere
2 is after a while, it only happens in the bedroom
3 is later when the closest it ever happens is as you pass each other in the hallway shouting “Feck you” at each other!

'tennis orientated' ladies that had moved in next door and how cosmoplitan and trendy he was in accepting their sexuality, until he found his wife in bed with them that is.
