I don't see the cause for argument. The ministry quite clearly recognise that these dozen or so folks do not represent the views of all TFF members. The use of the letters in the name of the group or how it is referred to is thus immaterial.

What you should all be concerned about is when CRD and Deathra come asking for a zoom meeting with me to formulate policy.
Your time would be better spent explaining to Pasty what is and how a mrDNA vaccine works.(the phizer one) and if it is safe or not.

In light of all this could @Clive @Chris F make some sort of a thread that could be helpful in providing real time farming and environmental information/issues that can be sent to Defra where everyone has an input?
Some are forgetting the saying
We are all in it together.
How it could be done I don’t know ?
"Too many cooks spoil the broth"

It would be much more effective to just have (Zoom?) meetings with 10-12 people on the same page, and hammer it out between that quorum?

I honestly don't believe you could come up with a truly representative "joint effort" with a much bigger group than that, as key messages get diluted too easily in the finished article.

It's hard to get even a small group to agree, though. Some of the stuff submitted even from our group isn't necessarily how I would have put it
eg our (local)environment has been getting buggered since the first white settlers arrived, so my perspective certainly doesn't exclude the damage over the past 60, but I wouldn't have made any claim to as to a timeframe.

Species decline and soil loss are real .

imagine if I was completely pedantic (these people do exist) and dug my toes in on that issue, stalemate!

But, definitely do it on Zoom so you represent all the Zoom users, or maybe via text message so you represent everyone with a cellphone

ADAS was excellent back then , MAFF was the go to for a prob. a lot of good stuff came from starcross and the Liscombe work on Silage etc was excellent ,never been matched imo.
Couldn't agree more. An EHF in each area specialising in the farming of that area. When we were at our local ag college (1970's) Dick High, the local ADAS advisor, came in to give us a lecture every Saturday morning - he was a very switched on bloke.

Everyone should just be BLOODY THANKFUL that they LISTENED to ANY farmer group.

Down here we have the opposite. When it came to water policy in the Murray Darling Basin. Those in power at the time, chose to listen to the views of 4 scientists who called themselves "the Wentworth group" and environmentalists under the guise of "the Australian conservation foundation " fronted by 1 woman.......NONE of whom's life nor income were to be affected by their lobbying.
The result. Catastrophic change to vast districts of farmland. Irreplably changed communities etc etc.
Now. The ACF could have put there hands in their own pockets and bought back water to put down the river.....but it was easier for this woman to pìss in the pocket of government....
So again. Be thankful ANY farmers opinions are being considered.

Just to keep you all informed there is another quote from a member of the group on the front of the farmers guardian

Really? I only saw a comment from a livestock farmer in Hertfordshire.

That’s fine of course, as there is no suggestion of representing anyone’s views but his own, and all that should have been done in the first place,👍

Thank you @Abi Kay .
