hey @Clive @JP1 @Shutesy and anyone else

not sure if you are aware of this, but it is now very common & frequent for TFF to shut down & just present us with Princess Poopers cows through the middle of the day for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere ie, midnight to early morning for you.
just thought I'd bring it to your attention in case you were not aware, or if there is a problem

Still having issues . . .

Daily . . .

@Clive - Princess Poopers cows are indeed regular visitors at the times Farmer Roy states.

OK this is fixed now, was all to do with a back-up routine that was running in the early hours (UK time) and killing server resource

Let me know if you still have a problem but hopefully you wont see cows again !

Thanks loads for bringing to my attention

yes more growing pains I guess ! After a few scheduled upgrades in the new year TFF will show in the native language of the country being viewed in and hopefully attract a much more diverse global user base
Wow that will be very cool. Although I can forsee some negative comments from the natives, unless of course you have on the fly translation planned too :p:D

I think adding this to TFF could be really interesting if farmers all around the world can communicate and share knowledge and information without a language barrier. Afterall we are all doing the same jb and have similar problems to overcome

Haha - good luck with that :)

I truly wish you well & I am a great believer of farmers around the world sharing information & exchanging ideas. A lot of our early zero till & summer Cropping information came from the US, for example. Also, more recently, the likes of Alan Savory , Bud Williams & Gabe Brown have been hugely influential. There is a lot of exciting stuff happening in South America, so I fully applaud the auto translate feature - I really hope they come on board.
As we are such a big country with very diverse geography, climate & farming systems, we have much in common with & much to share with & learn from the North & South Americans, the southern Africans & of course the Kiwis

However . . .
I really do wonder how the TFF UK locals will react to that
As an Australian ( with a lot of experience in farming in an extreme climate & zero till, I might add ) I have personally been told to "go home" on a number of occasions, that this is a "British farmers" site & that I am not welcome here. I believe some Kiwis & North Americans may have received similar comments. Especially when the subject is Brexit, subsidies, world markets, regenerative agriculture, grazing systems, holistic management, environmental awareness etc. Water off a ducks back, doesn't worry us. But - it does highlight the mindsets of some of the members who would rather discuss "which tractor, which pickup, which breed, subs, there's no money in . . ., let's blame everyone else ", than subjects of any substance

I did spend 3 years working on UK farms a lifetime ago, but I will say I am still shocked at the vast cultural / intellectual / personal differences between "some" sectors of U.K. agriculture and the rest of "us"

Anyway, congratulations on this site, for "having a go" & being positive about the future

Rest assured it’s never been my intention for The Farming Forum to be a British thing - the British Farming forum (kind of) exists for that

International content is some of the most interesting on here imo and I want to encourage more of that

There will always be a few that don’t agree but I’m confident the vast majority welcome overseas visitors as much as I do

Xenophobia Is not welcome or tolerated here, please report it to a mod if it happens and we will act accordingly

:woot::woot:
Wow, whatever will they think of next?

It'll be interesting to see how it copes with such words as farwelted, garings, end rigs, cowped, slochen, kelter, etc, etc.

It's hard to know what somebody from a different county is saying sometimes, never mind the other side of the world :p

Good luck with it (y)(y)

Haha

Headers & combines both mean completely different things here

As for corn, well, there might be some confusion there as well :)
