I've just checked and I've done 1603 steps today and still working. This is why I need to start making time for running.

That isn’t many steps at all  I don’t wear my watch any other time other than running and I managed to do 10,000 steps in just one run tonight so it definitely helps!

Local course frozen so went to Maidstone. New PB on a tricky course must be new running shoes making improvements! Can anyone explain barcode checking at end? I got a finish tab but didn’t get it zapped for 3-4 minutes after finishing. Would that effect my running time?

Well done on the PB. Time should be set as you cross the line, iv'e left my barcode in the car before now and its been fine.

@Northdowns Martin ......Time is when you cross the line (position time) , stay in order in the funnel (I shouted that! lol ), collect token.... token matches position time and generates finish number.
Go to scanner they scan your personal code and time token, computer wizardry matches your finish place, time & personal barcode. :)

Results may be a bit late today the websites gone a bit wobbly!! :(

Each barcode tab you are handed as you exit the funnel has a number on it i.e. 42 for example. Therefore when your personal barcode is paired with this tab and scanned, the time shown when the timer pressed the timing button for the 42nd time when you crossed the line is matched to you. Your position or time is not affected by not getting scanned immediately. Although it is not a perfect system, but it's pretty damn good and the only way of doing a reasonably accurate timing job on many tens of thousands of people each week for free. (I always look at the number of my finishing tab before it is scanned as it gives me an early indicator of how well.....or not I have run compared to previous positions).

It's worth remembering the position number of your finishing tag on our run, as the scanners 'crash' on quite a regular basis, and the organisers try and build a set of times for the event with an appeal on Facebook for information from people who timed themselves, or used Strava.
(I know someone who has a much better PB than they've ever actually achieved from claiming a better position than they really were on one such occasion!:ROFLMAO:)
