I'm afraid I was a walker again this week, second week running .
A twisted ankle from Tuesday that I thought would walk off, didn't
Still, 43 minutes walking is quicker than I was running it a year ago
And you turned up & done it. Well done.

I was inspired Can you request weekly inspiration and a bonus reward for group members getting a PBTraining session Number 3............. some resistance work on an exercise bike then on to more "core" exercises.
Things like squats, lunges and leg extensions. Then it was on to floor work.
She insisted that I "work on the abs".... I don`t have "abs" I have a pleasant middle age survival ring!!
By the time it had finished I was sweating like good one & feeling sick.... no pain, no gain.
I told her I needed a picture for inspiration (and to share with you lot for group inspiration!) ...she sent me this from the gym this AM.

If my PB reward can be a free massage...I`ll ask when she does my Thai massage on Wednesday (Monthly treat!)... 2 hours of manipulation and creaking/cracking joints....
All these pictures and promises of rewards for new PB's must be doing something, shaved 7 seconds off my Plymouth 10k time and got myself a new PB.View attachment 744796
Corrected that for youGet you "Pro`s" with the 10k lark!!
Do you do 5k each way or get an ambulance back?
I was really tempted to get the bus tonight, I could have done about 1km on the bus and then carried on.Get you "Pro`s" with the 10k lark!!

I tend to need the ambulance after a 5k, as I force myself to run the whole thing and I end up pushing a little too hard at times. The 10k gives me a chance to 'make up' for any breaks I take.Corrected that for you
(Although I did do a few 10km training runs back in May/June, round circuits)
Yeah, I am all too familiar with that rule.Just a safety tip I got from "work"... The basic way to calculate your maximum heart rate is to subtract your age from 220. For example, if you're 45 years old, subtract 45 from 220 you get a maximum heart rate of 175. This is the "safe" maximum number of times your heart should beat per minute during exercise. She went on to tell me that the heart is "just a muscle" but if you pull it you`ll know about it!!
I have been a fair bit over that at times!! Its easy to let enthusiasm overtake common sense!!
Thank you, i won my age group as well, but there were only 38 runners in total so i may have been in a class of 1.@JLLM , thats superb! Well done.
Mine was a steady 29.16 but my highest ever position finish of 178!!
The weather was feckin awful so only 300 or so turned up!
