I was a bit late getting there this morning. The leaders had already done their first lap by the time I got to the start line.
It does make overtaking people all the more satisfying though, I'd caught the tail gunner up within our first lap (then had to walk with her a little way as I couldn't breathe from sprinting(ish) 2.5km).

318th out of 520 or so in 29m 44secs............we had a running club takeover hence lots of "fast folk"........ I was sticking to the "lithe" 28 minute pacer like glue..... for the first lap.
Then it started to rain & hail.
This wasn`t good as we turned the bottom corner into the teeth of it.... was like someone pushing you backwards especially for those of a larger frame...... little lithe Zoe (28 min pacer) lost me..... :(

Usual "grit & guns" blast up the finish hill toasted 5 folk. :)

Ohh.......... and as part of the "Training Regime" we walked to the event (1.3 miles) then walked one circuit (1.55miles), before running it,(3.1 miles) then walked home (1.3 miles)...... 7+ miles "in the legs".

Feet up watching the rugby............... mud plugging tomorrow!!

Another steady 30 minute trundle round today.
Was almost cancelled due to the lack of "Hi Viz heroes".
I ended up getting the kit, setting it up, checking the course, running it then taking all the kit home. Mrs M was tailgunner.
The RD gave the field some stick at the briefing.....we had 560+ today and couldn`t get 20+ volunteers to marshall it until this morning :nailbiting:...the threat to cancel if we don`t get enough volunteers worked....next weeks rota is already full!! :D

Well done, I'm hoping to get to a decent no of runs, thinking 25, then offer to start volunteering.

I think it was our Christmas day run that ran with a skeleton staff of volunteers.
It was a bit of a case of if you knew the course: get on with it. And if you didn't: make sure you followed someone who did!
I got shin splints today, for the first time in months. So although I was about ten minutes earlier starting than I have been for a few weeks, I was very similar on my time
I'm determined to get there on time next week, and get an official time back in the 30s again. I think I've been about 33/34 minutes for the last few weeks, but it's hard to tell when I don't wear a watch.
