TFF Parkrun Fiends...............

Cardiff Half Marathon yesterday. Not sure if I enjoyed it at the time but at least I finished it! First running event I've done for 20 years and didn't train properly for it either which was a bit silly. Good atmosphere.

2hrs 22mins. The lungs could do more but the knees and legs couldnt!

Well done you fool.
One of my employees ran at Cardiff for some reason. Trained by me making him work hard.

I feel as I'm the only person in Wales who didn't run in Cardiff yesterday:rolleyes:, well done you.

Have you done it? It was very busy yesterday. Good experience, I'd recommend it because the crowds make it a good atmosphere
No, only started running in december, the plan is to do the Ras Dewi Sant 1/2 next year, my sister is on about doing a 1/2 in Llanelli in the spring as well. There is a 10k trail run in Stackpole on sunday, if I'm not picking spuds I might enter.

I'm down for the half in Llanelli - see you there!

Also I have an idle plan over the winter to run the whole of the coast path in about 15-20 mile segments (will be a walk/run not just run)

Kudos for that!!
Legs & knees are fine, its the breathing bit that gets me. One of the old boys (must be 70+) who does our parkrun said "Concentrate on breathing in....the breathing out just happens!".

Have a read of this for a little inspiration.

One of the team interviewed in a YouTube clip I saw said that he needed to run at 2:50/km, roughly 21km/hr. At that pace he would complete a parkrun in just over 14 minutes, but he needs to maintain that for two hours...

Mr did the cardiff half twice didnt really enjoy it think the concrete and flat running bored him he prefers XC.

We including the kids been doing laps of the field this week. He's flying but those dam hills I have to walk. The kids are good though.

My issue is my wired evenings total inability to sleep last night. Not great for me as I need a lot of sleep plus the anxiety creeps in if fatigued.

So Eliud Kipchoge would have done a #parkrun in around 12mins 30secs....... he was slightly quicker than me at 31mins 9secs today ?‍♂️?‍♂️:ROFLMAO:

Your pretty close to him then really.. :ROFLMAO:

My PB is 23:02, but I haven't been for a couple of years. Not sure I would be quite there now. I tend to prefer steadier longer distances these days for some reason.

He did it. Earlier today.

Well, I`m now doing "mid week training". :nailbiting:

In week 3 of Couch 2 5k supporting Mrs M on her journey. So it was 2 walk/run circuits of 3/4 mile yesterday after work, then 3 miles of intervals home. :yuck: Mrs M wasn`t there because of some diary mismanagement.

I now need to go out again tonight with her and do 1.5 miles of walk/run stuff to help her along.

Then its a "rest day" ... and PR Saturday.

Sadly our local PR was cancelled as our "Caravan Utilising Nomadic Travellers" had occupied a good chunk of the course. The MATU (Multi-Agency Traveller Unit) had served them notice to leave, then we have to wait for the council to clear up the mess.
Ended up going to Victoria Park in town, 3 lap course and lower gradients than at home 216th out of 300+ in 30m 25s.... a whole 12 seconds off last week! ?‍♂️?‍♂️?(y)

It was "moist" with some parts of the course totally submerged, some folk tried to skirt round the puddles...onto the grass which was much wetter!! :ROFLMAO:

Then it was off to Western Park for the annual pumpkin rolling festival.....that was "flipping wet" rather than moist. Amazingly 40+ families turned up to roll pumpkins, eat cake and drink tea!!

Our nearest was cancelled due to a lack of volunteers today:grumpy:, been meaning to put my name down for a while now, unfortunately today would have been tricky to start. Next closest was cancelled due to the weather so I may have to go for a little run on my own to ease the withdrawal symptoms.
