I cycled to Torquay a few years ago, 320 miles (I was local YFC club president, and somehow got roped in to cycle with the youngsters to encourage them :scratchhead:). I did no training, and actually had to go and buy a bike a couple of days before, and I made it!
(It did hurt though! A lot!!)

Flipping heck!! That is slightly bonkers!! Was it the "cause if" that was "sore" ? That was my issue on previous bike rides a long long time ago.......

Mr Consistency in another 32 minutes..... I`ve got the pacing bit spot on....just need to increase the pace in the right bits. Finding it much "easier" now than a year ago. Don`t even think about walking.

I used to break my parkrun down into thirds. (and 5k training runs in general too) It helped that my watch gave me times for each mile, not km, I suppose. My target for a while was to get under 24 minutes, if I could run the first two around 8m/mile pace, then empty the tank for the last third, I found over time I got quicker and could run that last mile with faster and faster splits and by keeping the first two miles around 8m/mile I had enough left in the tank. Mentally if you know you haven't got long left, you can push harder.

Out with the work Couch to 5k group this evening and, due to shortage of volunteers, I ended up being lead pacer.
Now I don`t do "tech" with watches etc and I was having to talk to the "newbies" and encourage them......... 31 mins 30 secs for the last 5k before Saturdays graduation. ???‍♂️?‍♂️
