There was a "New Years Day Double" in Leicester. Our usual local had just shy of 900 turned up!:eek:

We were returning from our New Year break in Cumbria and, after walking Helvellyn on New Years Eve the odds of running anywhere were greatly reduced!! :ROFLMAO:

Nearly 200 for ours today. Numbers definitely higher.
Managed 36th today over a minute quicker than new yrs day at 25.23 though I’m not absolutely sure the distance we ran was as far as advertised given a change in track due to mud !
But I’ll take it !

23.36 today. really windy at Rutland Water Parkrun.
last three runs have been within 7 seconds of each other. how does that happen?

Don`t get into Stopwatch Bingo and the other "add ons" ! Stopwatch Bingo is 0-59 secs on your PR times and there are many more challenges you can take on! :)

Contemplating trying the gammy leg out this weekend...............things have improved a fair bit recently.

I was on event set up. We had to move the finish (wet/mud etc) and the course was a bit slippy. The tarmac was ok with caution but the WWII concrete at the start was like a skating rink. So some fool (me) suggested getting 4 marshals to form a line and force the runners onto the grass either side, until they were back on tarmac.
Ever "faced down" a start line of 600 runners??
"They stood 4 strong on the icy pavement of death as the 600 charged towards them "..... :ROFLMAO:

We are back on it again. Luckily my afternoon sleepiness has gone now and I didnt feel sick and need to rest which has given me a boost. Im still well over 30mins struggling with the fear of going to fast my legs are still doing small strides. One thing Ive found really beneficial is youtube flexibility exercises Im currently completing Tom Merrick 20 mins deep stretching and its amazing how stiff and non-flexi I am. Hip and ankle exercises are def good.

Are you gonna do the Preseli beast? Against better judgement ive agreed to do the 26 miler! But will treat it as a walk/run and will bring a picnic!
