There is a possibility I`ll be back in the saddle for Saturday. The 14 flights of stairs at the football on Saturday combined with stretching and the tennis ball appear to have helped a lot, even managed to walk to work & home so far this week.
Will try a little local training jog first.

Bit of a tough day today to be honest.
At our PR we have a Cafe2U coffee van and for 6+ years it was run by a lovely guy called Gary. Sadly he took his own life a few weeks back so today was "A Run for Gary" with a request to wear red to match his van. Some lovely words from the RD and a request that everyone made the effort to say hello or just chat to someone.
Nearly 700 folk done Gary proud, if only he knew how many folk cared the outcome might have been different.
RIP Gary.

Chuffed beyond reason after my 100th Parkrun today, Pb-ed today by a staggering 19 seconds, breaking the 26 minute barrier in the process, which is something I thought I could never do. I will be 55 this month, and although I played rugby all my adult life up to the age of 45, I now believe myself to be as fit or perhaps even fitter than I have ever been taking age into consideration. I took up running in 2014 plodding slowly, but with time and weight loss ( I fast two days a week, something I find very easy) I have slowly improved. Parkrun is great for everyone and is absolutely inclusive, everyone is equally valued whether you are an elite athlete, a plodder, a walker, running with your dog or pushing a pram, and always very social with a good chance of cake and chocs to snaffle up at the end.

Volunteered (again) the wobbly leg is improving very slowly. It`s a bugger getting old! It was a bit moist underfoot but with lots of other PR`s cancelling we just pushed on, back down to average numbers of 350 or so....... the finish funnel "chopped up" a bit. :)

Was on the volunteering again............. it was very wet underfoot so we had to move the start and the finish at the last minute , and then some very heavy rain/hail/sleet rolled in at about 9.20am.
I was on number checking ...least I was moving, thought the timekeepers were going to get hypothermia or trench foot. ?? It was brutal.
Back on the running next week, leg seems a lot better. (y)

Where was that Will? I was supposed to do the Ras Dewi Sant 1/2 on Saturday but it's been put back to the 25th of April, did a very muddy H West Parkrun instead.

Google Preseli Beast and you can enrol. Its not too dear either. Theres an 11 miler, a 24 and a 32. I'm sort of training for the 24 (but it will be a walk/ run job with a hydration pack with stops and food). I have to be honest I don't think I'll be fit enough to do the 24 miler.

Just looked, it’s the same people! They were lovely when I did the carningly one. Plus there was lots of cake! It’s a shame there’s not a middle distance between the 11 and 24! Are you doing tour of Pembs this year?

Yeah the main guy is called Carwyn I think. 18 miles would suit me - but then again I have 2 months to prepare! I won't do tour of pembs. All adds up ££ so will give it a miss this year and do some others - let me know if you see something fun going on.
