Morning all, we have been working on the next upgrade for about 9 months now. Thank you to those members who have helped test it and have seen the update. Mostly this is a collection of a lot of minor changes, which hopefully add up to a better experience. We have also worked with AHDB, Defra, ADAS and HSE on better ways to include what they call "formal knowledge exchange". The resources section currently is a set of static pages which aren't really used. Organisations will be able to now create their own resources as they want to.

We have also added the concept of questions. So you can "Start a thread", "create a poll" or "ask a question". Where a question is asked, members can then upvote and downvote replies and the actual answer can be marked as such. The answer is show directly after the first post, even if it was on page 5 of a now 30 page thread discussing which pickup is best ;)

The other big reason for this upgrade is to allow us to launch the new TFF APP in about a month. The APP which has again been requested by members due to the lack of functionality in the old app since it got delisted from the IOS store, will make it easier to use TFF from your phones.

To do the upgrade, the forum will be down from 12:30 to 3pm tomorrow, 4th August. Wish us luck.

Does this mean the layout/format will be altering from what it is now or mainly editions / tweaks to existing??

No changes to layout with the main forum sections. Slight change to branding. Resources will sit as a new area, so you will have a "New Posts" and "New Resources" button at the top.

The blue will still be blue and the white, white.

Don't worry, there will be a revamped version of The British Farming Forum ready to go in the wings, if it all goes pear shaped ;)

Anyone getting a feeling of Deja Vu?

BFF was a textbook example of why updates to software are important / the consequence of neglect or lack of investment it's not just about user interface (although its important that evolves) , security is important and we take it very seriously
