I would think the trade was at least £10 up on last year. I only saw 2 pens go through unsold.
Mule shearlings would have averaged over £140 with those having lambed selling at a premium.
The Suffolk crosses and continental crosses seemed to trade over the £150 mark
Rams were a lot harder to shift though & I think plenty returned home.

Yes Ram trade was not what most vendors wanted, I managed to pick up a Texel at the right money, out of the 20 texels taken to the show only 3 were sold by the vedor i bought from. I then bought some expensive pedigree beltex ewes as pets for the wife.

we took the dip and had a stand there, spent most of the day talking to people and the mood seems fairly good cull trade has been good and folk seemed happy to spend on replacements

What's she done to you to deserve that? Was talking to a breeder on the Beltex stand at the NSA event, and even he described the ewes as 'heartbreakers'.

Ha ha, not sure, I like the look of them but she's named them the three witches, due to their ugly appearance, I thought it better to call them the three little pigs. Want to have a little play with getting a few rams from them to use on our mules. There were some Charolias cross beltex rams there yesterday and they looked some sheep, head of Charolais and long but the confirmation of a beltex.
