Well maybe not as creative as @Walterp but it is the best I can do.
I have had a long standing problem with my 3080, in short being a bad starter, new starter motor, new battery but never got to the back of it until I tried a suggestion on here where I put one jump lead from the negative of the battery to the tractor body, and it started way better.
So I took the bolt out of the earth strap and it was badly corroded to the point where the eye of the strap wasn't touching it enough and the whole thing was getting hot.
A new bolt cured it.
The ball part was during a main seal replacement on my sons Beta trails bike we had the clutch off to replace the seal, put the clutch basket back together and the lever is solid.
WTF caused that, we asked ourselves.
A quick look online and apparently there is a small metal ball between the 2 clutch pushrods and we hadn't noticed it as it fell into the dust on the workshop floor.
Found it this morning, popped it in and we have a clutch again.
