THE BRITISH ARMY ALWAYS COMES TO THE RESCUE?

I would bet the military bases in the UK are largely supplied by commercial tankers driven by civilians, I doubt the army sends driver Bob on a click and collect supply run from the refinery. Given our army has been shrunk to about a dozen men how many suitably qualified drivers do they really have, with nothing else to be doing, to take up the call?
Just about everything with regards to servicing the Army has been "privatised" and passed over to civvy firms, in many cases, to the detriment of what was being done before by dedicated units or personnel.

My lad was saying the Loggies are seeing men leaving the service in droves, and also from other units where the troops are HGV qualified.

Good. If they do come back it'll be back to paying lorry drivers and veg pickers sh!te wages, the indigenous population won't be interested in the low paid work, and the whole sorry saga starts again.
I was just saying the same earlier, that's why I was so annoyed with Kier Starmer saying he would allow in 100 000 drivers from abroad, so there would be no incentive for the employers to improve not only the wages, but also the conditions of work for drivers, I think if that happened there would be an exodus of drivers who already work here.

A friend of mine - who has now left the army - joined up basically to get this qualification. His plan was to do the shortest term, get out and be a fire fighter because this apparently qualifies you for both. He said there were loads of blokes on this course and questioned why the army trained so many. He is a butcher (his pre army job) and lives in Canada now so will be no help at all.

There's plenty of fully qualified fuel tanker drivers in the UK, the fuel companies even know who they are. Now all they need to do is offer them a good contract and chuck them the keys.
Fuss about nothing.

My Nephew spends his free time up on the Mack loop. Here is the the Eagle that went through the other day. Very keen photographer.
