The weird thing is that she MUST know she’s talking cobblers. She lived until fairly recently in Netherwitton Hall, in the heart of Northumberland sheep country. Not sure whereabouts she lives now, if she ever gets out of London, but unless she keeps her eyes tight closed she must know that there are plenty of larger lambs around now (probably produced in a more sustainable way than Easter lambs too, as they can be sold off grass).
Shows how much respect and understanding she has for her constituents (ie. me).🤬

From Christianity.
We are supposed to use our talents for the good of others.
But I fully agree that when our willingness to serve is either ruthlessly exploited or pulled to pieces and criticised relentlessly then my attitude tends towards “stuff ‘em. I’ll look after myself.”
The thing is though, that’s what the fertiliser factory has done and look where it’s got us. Are we moving so far down the road of pure self interest that the system is falling apart.
A very good question.

for the moment, we are all part of a Christian culture whether we realise it or not, for how long I am not sure because it is being assaulted on two sides simultaneously, from the left (which includes the Church of England) and from non Christian religions too.

I'll bet they dont see our lovely people protesting on the london roads about there not being enuff house insulation
This shouldnt be going on in the world in these times i agree its shocking but there is still plenty so wrong in our world unfortunately
They would rather fight over religious beliefs than just get on with fellow men etc.

Margaret Beckett said years ago .....the world will be our food basket, how wrong she was
As for China etc the 20th century was the American century, the 21st is the Chinese century, enconomic might trumps military might, we are just bystanders watching the old and new,the changing of the guard

Well when the Russians invade I'm siding with them. It would be a pleasure to see them run over the top of all the useless f wits that run our country

For me, this is what the NFU should be doing - briefing the relevant ministers who are doing trade deals and forming future agriculture policy, because clearly at the moment they are doing neither. I don't think I have ever felt so frustrated by a government. They do not appear to see that at the very least they have to support uk farmers to ensure some kind of food security. Not direct financial support but at the very least, parity of standards on imports.

They are most definitely, but with a huge majority do they listen?
Me thinks not.

Restrictions on spreading organic manures

You must not spread organic manures with a high readily available N content (where more than 30% of the total N content is readily available to the crop) in the following periods:

GrasslandTillage land
Sandy or shallow soils1 September to 31 December1 August to 31
December
All other soils15 October to 31 January1 October to 31 January
What practical tests are available to determine if the organic manure has a readily available N content above 30%?
How would the EA inspector prove the case. How is this enforceable?

That was kind of the point of EU and CAP. To protect us from our own governments!

They have the keys and are running a muck with not a care in the world for Agriculture.
