The cows are in!

After initial dig off 18 months ago, the first cows are now in at our new build robotic( Lely) dairy facility at Nottingham. Another complete build project managed by us from start to finish. Happy to answer any questions about the build if of interest?

It is indeed...good spot!
We were principal contractor for the project which included 3 bay silage clamp, sand separation and slurry systems, young stock building, calf building, reception building, isolation building and 2 large robot milking/cubicle buildings. We completed everything from initial dig off and drainage through to fit out....... plus car parking and asphalt roadways as we left !

Nice job.
Good to have a bit/lot of money!

how many cows? how many robots? and total cost? just wondering how many years it would take to pay for a setup like this?
There are 8 robots in the 2 buildings. Currently there are 160 cows in the system. This is a research farm( teaching centre for vets etc, health care monitoring, sponsored animal food trials and the like) so cant really view it in normal commercial terms.
Needless to say the investment cost would not make commercial sense if reliant solely on milk output for payback, albeit they do sell produced milk through the normal; channels!
I understand they will be encouraging visitors from mid next year, so maybe worth a visit if you are interested!
