Never heard one but the female song is said to be "bubbling". Would that describe the sound?Magic, after a long wait this year "finally" heard the cuckoo for the first time,in the usual spot on the north norfolk coast.

You are correct in the "bubbling" sound that does in fact eminate from the female cuckoo. And as an aside I heard my second male cuckoo earlier this a.m. not far from home at all.Never heard one but the female song is said to be "bubbling". Would that describe the sound?
Frack all here for donks !This has been a bumper year for hearing & seeing the cuckoo here in Norfolk. I am well pleased with 2022,best year since 2009.
