Favourite machine on the farm,

It does have a bit of a fault at the moment, if the dipper arm is fully extended, it swings down, reaches the bottom of the arc of travel and then pauses before starting to move upward again. I've changed the filters and oil but it hasn't cured it and it makes grading very tricky. Any ideas whats causing it? Sticky valve maybe?

No play at all in the dipper arm.

Tried to take a video of the effect, doesn't seem to do it as bad when the oil is cold, but you can kind of see it:

I assumed that you had no play in the pins, but thought I'd ask, excessive play will cause the slowing of the dipper as the weight transfers on the pins.
What I was really getting at was is there movement in the dipper ram, are you able to push and pull it slightly while the dipper is hanging vertically.
I have no idea how the Kubota rams are assembled, but if for instance the ram piston was starting to come lose on the end of the rod and was allowed to slide slightly back and forth on the end of the rod, then this may give the symptoms you are experiencing, as the dipper falls under its own weight, it will then slow down while the piston catches up with the rod, it may only be a few mm but will make a lot of difference at the dipper end. If this is the case then it needs sorting before it gets worse and the ram falls apart, the damage could be considerable if this was to occur. It's also an easy thing to check without pulling valves apart.
Just a thought :)

We had this problem on our kubota kh 191, can't exactly remember what we did , but we took the joysticks to bits and there were small brass gauges on some of the oil pipes , they were chocked , sorry can't remember exactly which pipes but it certainly cured ours.
