I had a man concreting behind the house . He has this Hitachi EX 40 . He thinks its 1996 . Dash 3.
I have to say i was very impressed with its ability , not to mention speed . Horses for courses . He has it 12 years .

I find it’s very rare to find them marked.normally feel the ground and get a shovel out.hopefully you will get away with it.did you damage your digger.only one I hit back in the 80s,it blew the solenoid out on my then case 580f digger.bucket did not look too good either

One of the things I was going to mention to @Hilly was the need for a CAT scanner.........It is a go-to tool when owning a digger of any sort.

Cat scanners dont always tell the truth ,,nasty accident at a factory in town few years ago ,,Northern Power was installing a bigger transformer for the plant ,,they scanned every inch or the area twice ,had plans for the underground cables ,,they exposed everything and scanned again ,,nothing reacted to one cable ,,lad went in with a stihl saw and it was the last thing he saw ,,cable was still live ,blew his arm off and blinded him .He landed 20ft away , H&S had a field day

There was an electric cable dug up at plantworx at Peterborough showground last year.the whole site had been scanned and was classed as clear.sh!t happens.

Fair enough but I've 'found' many cables with my CAT rather than with the 360. I'd rather do a scan first than with hindsight.
