The economics of autosteer

The thing I like about Gps is being able to lap a pdk and know the area straight away. We work for a number of farmers that could be over half a hectare out on their areas. Some could be 2 hectares.
This year I generated maps for 2,200 hectares.
For every time I go back to spray one of these pdks again it will save me time and frustration knowing a true area.

Paddock shapes are generally crap so having auto section control on the truck is awesome. We are now starting feed maps from the spray truck to the drill tractor (we do a fair amount of direct drilling) which makes the drill guys life easier when the farmer gives us X amount of seed.
With the disc drill in certain light conditions it’s bloody hard to see the drill rows and when we used a marker arm it was just as frustrating in stony ground etc.
when you have several farmers expecting you to be at their farm yesterday being able to get a few extra hectares drilled each day by working into the evening without working stupid hours and making mistakes rates very highly in my book!
