[QUOTE="RWG Contracts, post: 6789156, member: 22512"] As some of you may know nearly two years ago in March 2018 I was a complete plonker and managed to break my back. This has given me no end of problems since, constant pain, sleepless nights, spasms, you get the picture. At Christmas during my two weeks off work the change in my back was remarkable, I could sit and watch tv for longer than 30 minutes without been in pain, and even have a lie in bed in a morning without having to stand up and stretch it out. Subsequent hospital and doctors trips since have revealed that my line of work is fairly rapidly destroying my back. So something had to change, do I build RWG Contracts up to a level where I can take a step back and purely oversee or do I look at other work. After discussions with family and friends we all came to the same conclusion that while I was employing men, even if I could find enough decent men, I’d never be able to step back from the physical side of it. So it’s with great sadness that after 6 years and 320 days I have decided that today is my last day working for, and trading as RWG Contracts. The last nearly 7 years have been great and I’m really proud of the achievements that myself and most of my staff, the ones that weren’t complete nob heads, or threatened to stab me, have achieved. We’ve erected 58 buildings, laid 1000’s of cubes of concrete, some with puddles, some without, and I dread to think how many tec screws I’ve put in. Just a few thank you’s To a certain competitor that once they found out where I was working used to ring HSE and get them to come and do an inspection, thank you, it’s been handy becoming pals with the inspectors, maybe next time withhold your number then when the inspector gets bored of coming to see me and shows me the number you ring on, I won’t know who you are ? I’d just like to thank all my customers who have made our achievements possible, and especially the customers who brought us cake at brew time, I’ll definitely miss you Thank you to my many suppliers, many of you aren’t just suppliers but also good friends, many of you coming to visit me on my death bed in hospital. Moore Readymix Simon Schofield Gordon Hayes, Mellor Plant D&D Wallbank Pete Marquis Craven Concrete EDV reinforcements James and Ruth Ekin at Concrete Hire and Sales Smiths Hire Avalon Doors Blackledge Plant Hire Wareing Buildings There’s also two of my competitors who I often seem to be ringing for advise, or a counselling session when my day wasn’t going right or to moan about the weather, Dave Wallbank and Malcolm Taylor And then there’s my family and friends who have shown nothing but patience and support. And finally probably the most important two people the last 7 years Mum and Harriet who I tend to ring up and shout at down the phone, tell them to sort something then hang up on them ? not sure I ever showed you how much I appreciated you, but I wouldn’t have got this far without you. Once again thank you everyone ?
