If you stay overnight then it's well worth it. A nice old place to stay. Decor a bit 70s but it's very comfortable and clean and easy to get to and the food is excellent.

It means no hassle finding a hotel or restaurant in London. The trips/meetings etc are mainly attended by the older generation though...

Essentially a London hotel for farming types who feel so out of sorts when they are in the big smoke that they need somewhere they can go where there are others of a similar persuasion, all wearing tweed and reading Farmers Weekly in the lounge...!

I had complimentary membership for a year when I did my Nuffield Scholarship. I remember being asked to put my jacket back on whilst in the bar as you were not allowed to remove it apart from during 3 or 4 summer months. Fantastic location for central London.

Go for it @willy. Good value for you at £ 8k for lifetime membership. But you will need some pocket money to go out clubbing - the bar closes at 21.00 hrs.
the plus side is, they only charge an extra £16 to let a hooker share your bed.

Just spent an interesting 5 minutes reading the website - pleased to note that between June and September gentlemen need not wear a jacket at breakfast! Great to see an island of maintained standards in our increasingly disordered society...
