First go at abit of rabbit fencing

New stock fence with rabbit net pinned to it, fold out method.
230m around a iron age hill fort.

New favourite tool....... "Rapid" hog ring pliers........ magazine fed
2000 rings....... hand hurts abit now :X3:

Bit of a pig of a job, ground is bone dry, rock is 8" down, had to dig pilot holes for strainer posts cause rock spike struggled to get any depth and got stuck in the ground a few times.

All timber was redwood...... great last for years hopefully
One problem...... all the knots are in the same place in a ring around the stakes, any resistance and they snap like matches, clean breaks as well!
So had to rock spike every single stake!

I've started using 4-5" posts now. The past few loads, seem to be all 3" and I've had too many snap (n)

Had to weld up the basher plate half way though like you did.

Got to get a replacement plastic cup thingy for the top off the rock spike as well cause it's disintegrated

At least trust paid for materials :sneaky:

Ferret boys were up Sunday and flushed the rabbits out of the hill fort

What post driver are you using @exmoor dave ?

Protech p200s

It's done a hell of a lot of work,

Spose it's best that the basher plate cracks first before something important like the mast.

Otherwise really pleased with the basher,
Got the extra options- rock spike, hydraulic rear leg, 210kg weight, telescopic reach.
Also had the rock spike made up to 75mm so I can attach my DIY square hole puncher

What are they going to do to control the vegetation, now you have locked everything out?

Nice work as usual @exmoor dave , we use the rapide hog ringers, they're great. Did you peg the wire down or are you just trusting the grass to grow through and pull it down.
Only use uc4 4-5" posts for intermediaries, got fed up with breaking so many, and like @SJH use them at 4 to 4.5 m centres.
