Definitely jam with good dolop of fresh cream on top. Farm i worked on when young uses to have hansome cornish pasty every saturday with veg and a pile of clotted cream alongside. Melts in lovley to the crusty pastry! Then another good dollop on scones with jam for after!

I thought this thread would be addressing the truly important question of pronunciation:

scone = sc on vs scone = sc own

I go with sc on, and any other way is wrong.
