If you saw the politics show after you would of heard he came straight from no 10 with the instruction to goad borris, I thought he came over as a stroker who lied about the leave campaign. The leave campaign does want immigration changes to our boarders, but not as he said " no immigration at all" the leave campaign want to leave the decision to the country's people and if they want more or less that's democracy. That's totally different to majors blarny !
Perfect example of the eu is Cardiff assembly, nothing done for the Welsh peop,e but plenty of money in their pockets from the eu for building bulls**t schemes that are obsolete in five years!

John Major came across very well. Boris appeared to have strolled into the studio after a night on the town with a random word generator stuck in his mouth. You got the feeling he didn't believe a word he was saying compared to Michel Gove the other night who at least had some belief and passion, even if his arguments lacked any depth.

He's just a grey milibean who likes cricket, not a clue how the country thinks these days. If they opened their eyes these former pms would see why they were chucked out in the first place. Poverty!

its amazing how if all of the above saw the interviews how we can interpret them so differently , personally ive yet to make my mind up but thought he was the only person ive heard so far who knew what he was talking about and was genuinly concerned for the future of the uk not just next week next year but long term and not for himself

The bit I saw he accused the leave campaign of saying it costs us money to be a member of the EU and said they were lying, well it does cost us a lot even if the amount is debatable, well he no doubt lied to his wife about edwina, and his comment about boris, gove etc not wanting to keep the NHS will really do the tories a lot of good at the next election, I wonder how many times the labour party will quote his remark at the next election, what a fool

Wasn't that JM who thought it a good idea to take the pound into the ERM in preparation for joining the Euro.? Remind me how that ended?

I remember sitting in my office while he and Norman Lamont raised interest rates by about 5% in two hours in a desparate attempt to keep the exchange rate within limits while George Soros trousered about £5 billion speculating against them. They said it would spell doom for the economy if we didn't keep within the limits. I remember he said something like we would never come out of the ERM unless it was over his dead body or words to that effect. Next day we were out and the economy enjoyed a sustained period of growth.
That was the last time I ever took any notice of anything he said, a view reinforced by his affair with Edwina Curry. And people still give him any credit as a man of sound judgement?

He was a lame duck, nothing more, nothing less

by the end, even his own party wanted rid of him, such was his liability

I'm pretty sure Norman Lamont wants out. Two men who were directly in charge when we crashed out of the ERM. Norman learned but John didn't. He should have gone back to his family business making concrete garden gnomes.
Was he the model for them ?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Just googled it he wants out

Perhaps he's looking at the bigger picture- and sees that the risk of damage caused to the UK by any Brexit is far greater than the risk to the tory party.

And besides, whatever the outcome, either gove or Cameron's ministerial career is over come June 24th, so the much hyped tory split the media seem to prefer to concentrate on is a bit immaterial.
