Well, I used to spend a lot of time with the lowest elements of society, and then came back to Wales. I am relieved to state that my knowledge of the matter is entirely vicarious; however, my understanding is that the word 'improve' would be inappropriate. In any case, you'll note that I didn't state which way round was in fact the gentlemanly one; and some would question whether a true gentleman would ever allow the sharp corner of a crisp packet to harm him there.

I have heard about a 'case' involving this material. Person complained of terrible infection which resulted from having a piece of the aforementioned left in situ. Best avoided.
