Hi all. I have a problem with my mcconnell pa6570t. The rotor only turns one way. Have been told to check the soleinoids and valves and all these seem fine. Any ideas?
Rotors on most trimmers I have ever used have a cable with a lever to change direction, most have a little lever that you need to move first so direction cant be changed by accident at speed blowing the motors etc (sorry if you know about the lever wasnt trying to patronise)

I hate doing roads now. Public can't read signs and look 10ft in front of there bonnet and are surprised when they meet me. Got led strobes and twin beacons but funnily still nearly crash in the back....
I done a footpath tonight in the peeing rain and dark thinking noone will be there and f**k me 2 muppets walked within 3 foot of the head

I had 2 banks men on a job and they were frantically waving at a cyclist. Yes I know on the footpath too. Bloody twit must have thought banks men were beckoning him on and the cyclist tried to go between my wheel and head. I just yanked the head in quick to stop him. Probably wasn't the best thing. Could see him going straight in the mincer...

Only if you whack them with it to get them to notice the sign!!!!
I was assisting at an incident a couple of years back - half a mile along a straight piece of road (B road, national speed limit) at dusk. I stopped a little way behind the incident with my hazard lights on, Plod parks a bit further back with hazards and blues going. Numpty one assumes that plod has pulled my over so swings wide to pass plod & my car, then without looking just pulls back in - clipping the front end of one of the cars involved in the original incident. Whilst we are getting over the shock of that happening Numpty two nearly rear ends Plods car and ploughs into the verge as he didn't spot all the flashing lights soon enough. Both were reported for "Driving without due care & attention" & were told in no uncertain terms what Plod thought about their driving skills. :banghead::banghead:

Mc connel 5455 new this season roughly 350 hours on it. I grease the rotor bearings every morning and mid day 6 pumps then rotate half turn then another 6 pumps... I suspect the bearing at the drive side is starting to go as running very hot but definitely think it has let me down far too soon. There's no play in the rotor but every now and then a vibration comes into the head and leaves again. Not flails as I'm very particular about changing any that causes vibrations. They're all pretty much new. When head is level there's no vibration a pound coin will sit as still as can be. When I'm facing a hedge i can hear a nearly as bad as a broken flail. Any ideas? Cheers

Check all bolts especially roller bolts and the bolts that hold the front hood on even if they look tight put a spanner on them! I had the same as your describing took me ages to figure out it was two bolts loose on the front hood. They looked right but did up about another turn and a half and problem solved. Hopefully it will be something as simple as that for you. My rotor bearings have done 960 hours and still going fine after just 8 pumps of grease every 8 hours.
