View attachment 477460 Time to get these sharpened up! May change for Comp flails. People's thoughts?
F14's are great for bashing big stuff but are total shite for annual growth and fine finishing as competition's win hands down for sharpness of finish.
Don't know what steel F14's are made of as they won't hold a sharp edge for an hour and soon get and awful tail lash from the none cutting edge that smash's hedges badly

I don't even bother sharpening f14s they seem to always have the same sharpness even after you have done some rotoavting with them.

Wife was banks man for me today chased off another transit driver lifting my sign. Luckily saved this one. Beyond a joke now, reported to 101 as if I have an accident and my signs have been stolen mid job it's bloody dangerous!

We've got the big 3 leg fold out ones from Spaldings, we push a big padlock down through it in such a way that it can't be folded up as well as a cable lock wrapped around a fence, tree, other sign or the Landrover if I can get it off the road!

I got one on the rear window for baling as after 2 flints off the baler pickup I got peed off.
Tbh I wouldn't have ever one on the side. Perhaps it may last a bit on the door but you can't see through them especially in the sun as they go misty etc.
I shall probably use the door one for general trimming as I look through the side window the most. Then just have that for if I'm on saw work or 2-3 year growth

At the moment i'm doing a bit of maintenance on the axle bracket catches, they have a terrible habit of siezing up, what does everyone else use? Copper-slip? Grease?
We just use the trusty old oil can on ours but generally run a hacksaw blade down each side of them once a year to take the burred edges off, they're usually the only bits we get trouble with! ......Or failing that just use your frontline mower for everything instead mate!!

It won't cut hedges very good. Frontline will be the next in the workshop to fettle up for the season!!
