Are you on XTC control box?
These warm up in use and get hot causing the problem
Does the revolution suffer from the same problem?

The armrest does get quite hot in places but (touch wood) never had any problems with it in 3 seasons.Does the revolution suffer from the same problem?
Yes it's an xtc.Are you on XTC control box?

Have you got an oil cooler on it?So put a voltmeter on the Anderson plug in the cab the other day for a few hours and got a reading of 13.9v pretty much all the time. Even when rotor cut out. They reckon it's the rotor control module which was replaced last year in late September. Service manager reckons I should have a temp sensor on the tank but I don't. Thinking that the oil is getting too hot and causing the module to switch off the rotor. How often do people change the oil in the tank? Mcconnel say every two years. What oil would you use to replace it with? Dealer going to talk to mcconnel to see if they come up with something.

We've had exactly the same problem as you guys on a new 6080vfr with revolution controls and after about a year of changing tractor batteries, uprating alternators, swapping the machine around tractors in the yard all with no improvement the dealer eventually came out with a new wiring loom for the trimmer and that cured it straight away. They apologised for our year of verge mowing with an intermittent flail and explained that they had had the same issue with a number of new machines and it had taken them that long to trace what was causing them to do it! I thought that was pretty fair enough on their part and since they fixed it probably two seasons ago she's now been good as gold! You'd almost say McConnell aught to step in with a full factory recall on them though the way things are looking on here, let's not hold our breath on that though eh!!Got a similar problem to you. Running a mcconnel 6470t on a 6480 at 1000 PTO. After around 1 hr, joystick movements become slower and rotor cuts out. Tried it on a 6495 which has twin alternators and same still happens. No option of eco pto!
Multipin plug gets warm on xtc box(MK2). Cleaned contacts but still same.
Just sent box to be checked out and all ok, so now ordered new loom from xtc box to machine but apparently non available until September !
Someone else was having similar problems on another thread last week.
Be interested if you find a cure.
How hot is your oil?
I have a cooler on mine and on a warm day in heavy going the oil tank wont get hotter than bathwater (40ish degrees),but my xtc box still slows down
mine gets nowhere near that hotHot enough that you nearly couldn't touch the tank for long.
i had hyd68 in my old trimmer and tbf that never got that hot either without a coolerHydraulic 46 I always put in hedgecutters.
If the rotor is kicking out it can sometimes be the valves in the rotor control valve block
