The Hedge Cutting Thread

Can someone please clarify the laws on tractors hedge cutting on council roads.Apart from the obvious insurance and tax on tractor do I need anything else as in signs or anything to cut my own hedges on a small country lane?

Hi guys buying a trimmer
I need some advice as I don’t know now a lot about them
I already know I want a 3point mounted one
Just stuck on the two other aspects
1, Brand
And 2 is it worth the extra to get electronic controls as opposed to cable or is cable better than it sounds
To me it just sounds old fashioned

Electric controls make it easier to fit the controls exactly where they are most comfortable, easier for the electric cable to enter the cab, and are quick to install and remove when hitching / unhitching the trimmer.

How long does it take to attach the non 3pl trimmer?
Sometimes it can be a pain in the ar*e, I have only had my axle bracket machine for just over 2 years but it takes approx 5-10 mins with that, the 3pl takes a bit longer weirdly enough.

I'm not as good as that yet but basically thats all you do with axle mounted one.

Basically on mine you take the stabiliser brackets off, (on mine 4 bolts on either side) and put the axle plates on in its place, then there are latches that clip to the axle plates which then attach the tractor to the machine. Your stabilisers fix to the axle plates. If I am taking the machine off for a while I remove the latches as well, if its only for a couple of days I leave the latches on. They don't really get in the way in any case.
