Do you honestly think he gives a hoot about the people watching them vids?. If he cared more about the viewers then why is he taking sponsorship from irrelevant company’s like Nord VPN and Ridge wallet?...who the hell owns a Ridge wallet?...mother of god

No but nobody is going to watch his videos if they are all of cows feet with no problems. if he can make money at it why shouldn’t he?

Ok
Don’t disagree with that personally but at the same time it would be interesting to know from fans of his wrk how often he pushes preventative treatment and how often he thinks cows need trimming per season.

Dare I say it I haven’t seen him trimming many grazing type cows.
He did some nice Montbeliards but he did say he does those twice a year and didn’t find anything very exciting.

I had a moan at him last year. He was asking his viewers for money to help buy his new crush which he imported from America. I think he got about 15k given him, then he stopped it. I said to him to go and get a loan like every other person would.
He really rattled my cage.

The hoof trimmers association didn't like it either.

Yep he crowd funded it. Not what crowd funding is meant to be used for.

The only thing his videos highlight is very poor stockmanship, nothing educational there I’m afraid
Agreed. The amount being spent on fancy crushes should either be spent on infrastructure to prevent lameness in the first place or on educating staff and operators on when preventive trimming should be happening.

Nothing fancy about my crush.

Some amount of negativity on here.

He does a great job of showcasing the dairy industry, warts and all, and the magnificent landscapes of SW Scotland, to a worldwide mostly non farming audience.

If the guy wants to crowdfund for a new crush, and folk are daft enough to give him money, fair play.

Does he go to your place?

I must admit he makes a great story about the farm he visits on the day. With the great drone shots and like you say the wonderful scotish countryside.

He must spend hours editing to make that perfect video.

But i resented him asking money for his crush.

He must be getting a nice income from Youtube and his merch.

No, we do our own.

Only came across him when having a conversation with a non farming townie, they asked what I did for a living. On saying I was a dairy farmer they asked if I trimmed my own cows feet or if I got someone in to do it. A little bemused I said I did my own and asked how they knew about hoof trimming. Turns out they watched all his videos religiously. Bizarre :ROFLMAO:

The only thing I have learnt from his videos is how to neglect cows feet...
Christ there’s some Virtue signalling going on in here!
Cows get lame and should be treated promptly when seen, unfortunately some are better at this than others. The hoof Gp will see all sorts from the very good to the very bad, some would probably be better euthanised than trimmed, perhaps it’s a comfort that people see fit to use his services to hopefully improve matters. Refraining from viewing his videos might be the best course of action if you find them so appalling.

As a tax paying individual I have a right to my own opinion so if I see shoddy work then I will speak up, also do you not think that the dairy industry has a bad enough rap already?, and that’s without publishing videos of horrendous stockmanship, lazyness, overuse of a grinder and having NordVpn rammed down our throats!!

Not sure what point your trying to make here, as a tax payer (and presumably a rather large contributor if the income figures quoted earlier in this thread are to be believed!) the hoof Gp has the right to earn a living, what he does isn’t illegal.
As I said previously it’s a personal choice whether to watch his videos or not.

The dairy industry has had bad press for all the 20 odd years I’ve been involved in it. If it ain’t bad feet it’ll be something else! Cheap food for the masses seems to be what it always comes down to, We seem to be getting lined up the fall guy for carbon emissions and global warming at the moment.
we’re an easy target as a divided and disparate group of individuals and that won’t change!

I think i'd attend a proper course. After attending that i'd say a good crush is worth it's wait in gold for the cow and yourself. I atteneded embryonics course with his brother in law Craig last year. Was a really nice guy and wasn't really into the video evrything mantra of hoofgp. I unfollowed him a while ago. Got fed up of the crap and ads. See he was with Abi Reader trying to flog easy fix stuff the other day. Nice to see the NFU lot are trying to get free stuff as well.

So it’s a video course? Wasn’t super clear to me on the website.

I’m a fan of his videos and the way he trims. Several members on here he trims for.
Since you’re in ‘ Erica, check out Aaron LaVoy, the Midwestern Hoof Trimmer. He does classes all over the world. The first two days, he does class work in the morning and they trim cadaver feet. Then they let you trim cows with Aaron watching. No idea the cost. Graeme has worked with him and there relationship is hysterical.
