It's not an altruistic act.I have repeatedly explained that it is not about protecting the wearer. It is an altruistic act of protecting others from a potential infection of the wearer. I am amazed that this concept escapes so many people. You, obviously know and acknowledge this. Others are stubbornly oblivious.
Nobody has claimed it to be 100% but your own observation shows that droplets are diverted from being thrown forward and a very high proportion condenses on the wearer’s skin, or glasses very visibly, and mostly on the mask’s fabric.
They speead virus and fear.
Why do you think infection rates are unaffected by mask mandates???
You cough droplets into your mask and aerosolize them by breathing through it, if you are wearing it in a close fitting way as you should.
