The "I`ve got it" thread...

In the real world I wouldn`t be getting tested.
It could lead to false confidence and the outcome could be horrific.
I would isolate (from those outside of the household/family) for 7-10 days before the persons arrival.
No shopping, going to the pub etc.
Make sure everyone who is going to be in the "bubble" is well and also isolates the same way.

Hands-face-space when the vulnerable person is with you for everyone.

Treat everyone as though they have it.

It`s pretty basic hygiene that stops it.

I just wish the Government would simplify the messages and stop getting everyone`s knickers in a twist!

Thanks. Appreciate your advice.

@JCMaloney on the theme of testing and false positives JC, how many tests on average are you running daily to produce those positives in the low to mid hundreds?

The daily cases figures are positive results from a mix of swab tests, from the testing stations around the City/County, plus daily positive blood tests from inpatients or people in a care environment.

I can only say that our in house results are all blood tests, rather than swabs, so there are no false positives for those.
Alongside patient tests we are also running research blood tests for a lot of trials and staff tests and that is what pushes the volume right up with several hundred a day and thousands a day at the peaks.

An average split would be very roughly 60% bloods and 40% swabs, although the counting methodology is enough to make it difficult to break down. So some units count a swab as 2 tests, others count the patients. We count the bloods as 1 but can have multiple tests for the same patient! So "Doris" can "feature" on 1 or more days as a positive.

It sounds simple but quickly becomes complex!
