Most marvellous it`s been busy with a long queue most days, later appointments seem have a shorter wait.
When I toddle down for a mid morning coffee its at it`s peak! Bring refreshments if needed..... staff only in the canteen! :)
Your gang and many others have been fantastic and the results are proving that it was all worthwhile. Let us hope that a small minority of idiots do not throw these gains away. Thank you all for your valiant work. (y) (y)

Coming for my second vaccine this week! :)

I await the 2nd antibody test result with interest. The vet turned up (early) when I was drawing the blood and looked somewhat shocked when I came to the door with blood running down my hand.
(If you thought the last one looked a bit messy....... :cautious:)
When I explained what I was doing, he laughed and said he'd one one too and he got blood absolutely everywhere, it's rather difficult getting it into the tube!
Well, I turned up at LRI, got booked in OK at the first desk, then when I went to the jab station ... they couldn't find any record of me having jab no 1! Even asked me if I was at the right hospital!

Luckily I had my vaccination card with me, but when they searched the batch number on the system, it wasn't there. Some head honcho down there said they would re-enter my first jab so that the second was then added, but it was slightly concerning, and may be why it has not appeared on my GP record - although when I phoned LRI after jab 1 it was on their system.

All a bit weird - apparently there have been a few glitches in the last few days, although none of the staff/volunteers knew what to do when the batch number didn't appear on the drop down list.

Good thing they were not busy as I took about 20 minutes in a jab chair!

Stopped at a village shop to buy a few provisions on the way back and was SORELY tempted by the open pub door on the village green, but lunchtime beer and work don't mix so opted for a celebratory ice cream in the sunshine instead (... and bought a couple of beer bottles for tonight).

Depends which system they were looking at. :)
There is the Swiftqueue appointment system, the vaccine batch record system, the patient record system (hospital), patient record system (GP) ....and they all have to talk too each other!

Glad it got sorted in the end..... 3 weeks to the Pub then?

Numbers.... very dull at the moment.
Defcon status remains at 2.
We only have 20 positive cases in and 4 in ITU.
Getting around 20 positive tests a day in City & County.

And most patients that come in are going home alive.
We like dull.
We like Defon2.
I thank you for a window on what is the front line rather than press realeases.

Can we have more posts on digging up fields please? especially now everything else is so dull.

You have been a consistent source of factual really rather dull information that has been so precious amonst all the opinions. Facts are most important.

Thank you again

Dull is good - but BTW in case I wasn't clear enough - boring muddy holes in fields are also interesting [more please]

Would love to but it`s "out of season" in my humble.
Arable is almost all drilled, grass is too dry or full of cows and sheep.

Oh and that Covid thing hasn`t helped much!!

However..... never fear we have an "educational" outing with some scouts lined up in mid-May.

Selby in Yorkshire and Derry in NI , the 2 hotspots for covid presently

Oddly Dover is one of the lowest in case numbers , think @BrianV has got his prediction badly wrong
not the city of Londonderry as such but the entire Londonderry/Strabane Council area ( a decent size swathe of north west NI) as such, a few local commentators where pointing out that based on some of the figures that the council areas near the border had some of higher case rates or slower to fall rates etc.

Not really worth updating this at this moment in time.
Getting around 10-14 positive tests in both City & County.
Work has only got 10 positive patients in, 50% in ITU.
No deaths for a fair while.
Defcon status is currently 2 with some impact on theatre lists.
Should drop to Defcon 1 or even 0 next week..... but I`m on holiday. (y) :)
