Many people will have it.
Many of those will have a mild form.
However with many spreading it lots of susceptible people will get it, get poorly and some of those will die.

Leicester 61 confirmed cases. 14 deaths.

I`ve given up on social media as we appear to have a second outbreak of fudging stupidity!!

Local page some silly bint posts an advert asking for a lift to her job at Amazons local "shed". When I suggested it was akin to playing Russian roulette with 3 bullets in a six shot magazine I was "over-reacting".

Won`t know for a while.
Work are only testing inpatients as they need it most, and the antibody test (post infection) is a few months off yet.
On a scale of certainty, and having spoken to our microbiology team, 99% yes.

Spoke to my boss earlier and it looks like I`m in the labs helping out on Monday... its all hands on the pumps for a while.
The way I understand it in China you have to have two negative tests 24 hrs apart to be allowed out.
how come we don’t do that ?

To me our policy seems to get it around the population as fast as possible to get back to normal.
But it’s back fired on Boris.

More to do with how each Country is governed than anything. Here its by consent & agreement, bit different in China.

I think he`s doing a pretty fair job of it to be fair. You are fighting an invisible enemy and the biggest tool you have is asking folk to stay at home to stop it spreading.

It doesn`t move, we move it.

Heard on the radio this morning that military planners are looking for another 10 such sites to turn into temporary hospitals.

Where are all the staff going to come from?

There wont be enough medical trained personnel (civilian or military) to staff 10 new 4,000 bed hospitals...?
They'll be roping in auxiliary help from people used to giving jabs and taking temperature and helping delivering the young. Fancy a new career??

So recapping the title of this thread....six pages in and so far just @JCMaloney on this forum is likely to have had it.

Sadly it sounded like the ENT consultant who died today was from Leicester so I assume one of @JCMaloney's tribe. :(

Consultant from Derby & Burton.
He was on ECMO at Glenfield as its a specialist treatment.
Takes the blood out of your leg, re-oxygenates it then pumps it back into the neck to give the lungs a rest.
With the roll out of testing I might find out in due course, if it was and I have antibodies, then that should be it, although they don`t know yet if you can get it twice and if it is as bad if you do....back to herd immunity.

If you believe what the newspapers say.....it seems that they are trying to extract antibodies from recovered patients to try and "treat" others.....

Latest score (last night- 30.03.2020).
Confirmed cases 97.
Death`s. 15.

Still good capacity and people are making it out. Front line staff are getting tested and, eventually, we will all get done.
It is definitely a marathon and not a sprint.

Stay well, stay safe.

Hi, sorry for asking as I am sure you have said somewhere. Is that 'score' for a particular hospital or health trust. What does it relate to. I look up the Lincolnshire official figure every couple of days which was 79 cases last time I looked, which I presumed were folk admitted to hospital.

Best wishes,
