One of the joys of working for the NHS is exposure to lurgy`s.

I`m normally in fine fettle, not had a day off sick in my 14 years in the job. Until yesterday.

Felt a bit "blurgh" on Monday but thought it was just a cold or the like, no reason to panic.

Work on my own in my own office so toddled into work as usual. By mid afternoon that was that...... temperature. shivers, throat like a bag of nails.

Anyway rules say "self isolate" so went home. That now grounds Mrs M (also NHS) for 14 days.

Day Two (today) temperature has peaked at 38.4 ..... headache is a dull throb and the throat is still sore as a sore thing. Day time TV is carp, the News is "repetitive" and I`m bored already.

@Danllan .... probably won`t be tested as we are (currently) only testing folk being admitted as inpatients or with co-morbidity... and i know what it costs!!

Just look at the manflu corner section of this forum, possible that some people have had it already at the start of the year?

I had the exact symptoms last year and was as I'll as I have ever been. But honestly who knows.

you could pass the time by donning some headphones and operating the Hoover in a sweeping arc across the rooms, see what ”artefacts” you can uncover indoors!

Alot of folks round scunthorpe been saying the same ,,something was about well before January,,I had a few days fealing dog rough,,pluthering sweat for 2 days ,,if Ide stood in the shower,I couldnt have been wetter ,,horrible but just put it down to being run down and normal bug season.

I've chatted with a few around here who have said the same, I guess the rolling out of the new and 'instant' test for antibodies will reveal a hell of a lot. By that I mean that the virus has been here for much longer, is much wider spread and has much less effect on most than is suspected; or that there are a hell of a lot of hypochondriacs around.

I thought i had a cold but cold weather makes your nose run if your doing exercise, chasiing sheep would have the same effect, when im cycling in winter my nose runs like a tap
