One of the joys of working for the NHS is exposure to lurgy`s.

I`m normally in fine fettle, not had a day off sick in my 14 years in the job. Until yesterday.

Felt a bit "blurgh" on Monday but thought it was just a cold or the like, no reason to panic.

Work on my own in my own office so toddled into work as usual. By mid afternoon that was that...... temperature. shivers, throat like a bag of nails.

Anyway rules say "self isolate" so went home. That now grounds Mrs M (also NHS) for 14 days.

Day Two (today) temperature has peaked at 38.4 ..... headache is a dull throb and the throat is still sore as a sore thing. Day time TV is carp, the News is "repetitive" and I`m bored already. :ROFLMAO:

The thing is, will you get to know if it's the real deal or not?

Mrs Danllan has 'a list' of stuff for me to do if / when we can't go out...

Twenty questions? I'll start: animal. :)

hope you get well soon.

you could pass the time by donning some headphones and operating the Hoover in a sweeping arc across the rooms, see what ”artefacts” you can uncover indoors!

failing that, get the back catalogue of lance and Andy going!

Just look at the manflu corner section of this forum, possible that some people have had it already at the start of the year?

I had the exact symptoms last year and was as I'll as I have ever been. But honestly who knows.
Same here. Started on Boxing Day evening, sweating but felt frozen, terrible cough and sore throat.
Was in bed for five days solid, never had anything like it. My neighbour is a chemist of many years, and she’s pretty sure I had it.

I've chatted with a few around here who have said the same, I guess the rolling out of the new and 'instant' test for antibodies will reveal a hell of a lot. By that I mean that the virus has been here for much longer, is much wider spread and has much less effect on most than is suspected; or that there are a hell of a lot of hypochondriacs around.

It really is unpleasant the temperature and throat are by far the worst aspects. Luckily our lovely neighbours dropped off some essential supplies....... two packs of paracetamol and two packs of wine gums. (y)

Are the NHS now stocking up on wine gums to make sure they have sufficient supplies?

I didn’t think symptoms for CV included a sore throat, but you’re better placed than me to know the details. Out of interest, what does each test cost?

They do. One of three main symptoms on the news - consistent cough, sore throat, breathing difficulties.

I thought i had a cold but cold weather makes your nose run if your doing exercise, chasiing sheep would have the same effect, when im cycling in winter my nose runs like a tap
