Seemingly 3 of the people given the Pfizer vaccine up here in Iceland on the 29th died today. This is heard from the boss from what he heard on the radio.

Because the state is vaccinating the elderly first and these folk are naturally nearer to death, irrespective of Covid, then we shall see a disproportionate number die over the coming weeks, and anti vaxers will link the recent jab with death. Hey ho, there you go. Cheer up,

Unfortunately it didn’t upset me to hear it.

seems like an awful lot of bother if they’re still going to die

On positive note our dentist friend received her second dose of the pfizer vaccine at Lincoln hospital ( she said the one dose only arrangement comes into force tomorrow) and spent the day as a vaccinator working in a pair with another medic. Was vaccinating care home workers booked in. Steady day she said - could have done more but the planners did not want to overload the system. So it is a chugging away.

Are the large number of positives because of a lot more testing capacity which we did not have back in March so the true number of positives in March were not identified.

Just like if they died of covid their death would be linked with that?

They have estimated that in April at least 100k a day getting it.
prob at least that now as is normally estimated at double the positive test results.

Will hit 100,000 cases a day before long I would bet. 80,000 a day around the end of December?
Except it’s not 80k/day....the (currently) single 80k day looks more like a catch up from Xmas day when only about 15k were reported...current recent average between 40k and 50k per day...but you could yet be right...

Sorry, yes, it did reach 80,000 cases a day back in December. I think this has what has got the government and co concerned, there are only so many ITU beds and if you just allow cases to build so rapidly then you are surely going to fill it.
