this seal has started leaking case 885 is it a big job to change or fairly simple whip the shaft out and put back in

Whip out the shaft and put a new seal in.
Don't put it in the same spot push it in further if possible so the seal is running on a different part of the shaft

cheers , looked like it would be the case didn’t want to go in gung ho and end up with bits everywhere. What oil does it take for the axle and how much? And this is a silly question what engine oil does it take that’s the last thing left to drop and change

About 7.3l of EP80w90 gear oil in the axle and 0.75l of the same in each hub.
Around 9.5l of 15w40 in the engine.

Last bit of welding done!!! Just a skim of Filler and a good spray job needed now!

Any one able to explain with photos of which two spool valves you would use on a 895 xl to operate a post knocker?? Only ever used a single spool on her for tipping trailer and grass harrows. Theres 4 spool connectors at the back . Thanks for any help given

They are paired unlike most spools horizontally. I don’t know whether a knocker needs a free flow return though.

If it needed a free flow could it dump back in were you top the backend oil up. Through the big plug with the vent.

Ideally you need to return oil below oil level. IIRC they have a plug somewhere just in front of L/H side trumpet housing.

Air con, 40k and a set of weights. It's an XL plus so Dromone hitch was standard by then.

I had one as ‘my’ first tractor at work. I loved it. They aren’t exciting extras except 40k and mine had the silly digi dash.

Looking good. On our duo the red part of the door is a sticker and now faded. Are transfers difficult to apply?
What colour is the chassis?

Looks like it. It's not exactly a crowded or complicated control console.

Wondering if a 1455xl will be alright running a hydraulic fan on a mounted drill all day long? Pump capacity is about 46 lpm I think.
