Hi guys got somebody coming to have a look at my Maxxum 5120 next week, I'm now retired so might aswell let it go only damper is that it has done 14000 hrs, I always changed the oil and filter every 250hrs fuel filters at 500hrs and gearbox at 1000hrs with case hytran oil and I've done that for about 10 years, need to ask a fair price for it without ripping the chap off, what do you experts rekon! It has aircon shuttle and shift with creeper and runs a treat and doesn't use oil.

Hi there...I have a inter 475. Please could any knowledgeable person tell me if LED headlights are available. Approx 4.5 inches. These sealed beam units just pop n fail at the sight of a pebble...
Any links or sites...
Thank you.

I don't own any IH tractors but I did work at main IH dealer from 1976-80 and I remember a lot that went on even after all these years !!
Now then I don't want to put a spoiler on things what will be an interesting topic but there is a photo of a 474 on
an R plate making it 1976-77
The 474 was replaced by the Perkins
engine 475 in 1975
I read a piece written on a Facebook page by an ex IH engineer that they found that the Perkins in The 475 made it such a good little tractor (Compared to the rather gutless 474 )that when The "84" series tractors were being developed several British IH engineers wanted to use Perkins engines such as the 4/236 some of the new tractors but The German branch of the company gave that idea a definite "Nein!"

Shortest stroke and capacity of the Neuss engines is why the 474 would have been gutless. Step up to the other 4cyl Neuss and they would give Perkins a run.

I would like to know cuz like you the 475 lights always need replacing and I hate that job, fiddling with that hard rubber.

Nah, we had a 674 and a Massey 168. The IH was nicer to drive than the Massey but (Grain carting and ploughing for example) that Perkins engine had loads more grunt. Reliability wise too, the 168 gave us very little bother but the Inter went back to the dealers several times, in fact it leaked oil from the engine from day one! 😖

Thanks for the info, been looking for a 2wd one myself, sounds sensible money for one with current prices. Best of luck with it
