So left to right what models are they

885xl.... we actually have two of them, one a super two which is in better nick.
maxxum 5130.. have an alo loader for it but all the pins are shot
956xl 2wd (I think it's actually a 955 with a 956 sticker on it)
956xl 4wd

all owned from new

on paper I think the maxxum is barely 10 hp over the 956 but the 956 is getting quite tired nowadays.

Have driven both over the years and thought the maxxum a bit numb compared to the 95 but I think itd been spannered
I know that the 844 I had had been tuned so much so exhaust used to glow in the dark on hard work

At night you should almost be able to see through the top part of the exhaust and the flame should be a foot tall on a well tuned 844. I miss the flame since I put the turbo on ours.

Here are two of mine. The 574 is totally original and even has the cladding still in place in the cab plus shiny paint if it wasn't dusty! The 885 had a bonnet respray and a few bits here and there. Its just been washed after being on the muck spreader in this photo. We have an identical (in spec) 574 which I bought for spares but it ended up getting it going and putting it on the post knocker. Most of the cab tin and glass are missing. Does anyone know the wheel paint code for the 574 as mentioned by @adam_farming ?

That 885 looks great! Our 574's look to have the same cab but a different loader? Mine's an Alo/Quicke, yours looks like a proper International one. Like you said, a paint colour code/name would be good, having tidied up wheels would help mine a lot as most of the rest of the paintwork is looking good

am I correct in assuming the new Kubota is only for backup when the 574 breaks down!!
Also the landrover has series 2 and series 3 headlights, is it legal
When I was working at main I H dealer
back in the 70's I remember the paint
as IH red or was it cardinal red

Sorry but I can't remember the name for IH white but you could try paint

The loader on ours is an IH 24-1 loader I think it was originally a trip loader which we converted years ago. It is older than the tractor poss from the late 60s. My mate down the road has an identical 574 with the same loader but I'm not sue they were that common on these tractors as better loaders (like yours) were available at that time. My other 574 has a Tanco loader

The 241 loader was very popular as it
Was a drive in loader held by 2 pins making attaching or unattaching a very quick job
But I don't think it was made by IH

The 574 only breaks down until I clear the diesel tap filter! I've had the tank off and cleaned it as well.

The Landrover has only recently been pulled out the nettles its not been on the road for 20 years. The 2a headlights are just spot lights so it was legal. There's a chap up the road that works for a Landrover mag and I'm going to try and convince him to do a full nut and bolt restoration as a magazine feature - it might work!!

Which dealer did you work for? When I was a kid every farmer in our village (7 or 8 at the time) had a new 74 series all with consecutive 'P'registrations so 1976 or 77. I think was a combination of a government grant, good potato prices and the manager of the local dealership also living in the village. Our dealer was Johnsons of Bourne.
