cab is rotten, found a cab from a 885xl,,to replace it, gears are on opposite sides so this needs modified
has anyone removed cab from a 4240, what is involved with the gear linkage ie what needs disconnected

front loader rams were all leaking, had to reseal them, the rod end in picture was severely worn so had to be replaced, dont think it was ever greased, all bushes and pins are also well worn so replacing most of them too, exhaust fell of due to corrosion, it now has a home made straight pipe that isnt much louder than the original so it may stay on the tractor, tractor has been outside all its life next to the sea which explains the state of the cab!

Stripped head lining out, I guess it has been letting water in more than in ever kept out, bit of culture been going on, also some of Oxfordshire finest soil has made it to Cumbria in the fan housing, plenty!

The slightly later incarnation got rid of the flush fit hatch which relied on drain tubes to empty gutter. Stupid idea with fine dust turning to paste then cement. The later batch overlaps the opening which had an upstand. The other thing is driving rain can enter the cab via the roof vents so if left standing, best to turn the internal recycle vents to closed position. Another poor design feature.

885xl gear sticks, fair bit of play in them, sometimes can get stuck as lever comes past the gate so to speak, is there a modification for this or has it to be weld and try to make the wear up, have cleaned out the linkage area today, unreal how much crap and items were in there, will get a pic tomoz,
