Can we clarify something here?
No one seems to like this because it looks too much like a defender. Yet in the new defender thread, no one liked that because it looked nothing like a defender?.....
I kinda like it, but in fairness i'm not overly bothered what it looks like, it'd be more about function and reliability for me, hypothetically speaking like, i'll likely afford one when its 10yrs old or so, if, in these enlightened times, they can make a dilly last that long.

I would like to know how mutch it relies on electronic gadgetry. I would be very impressed if there is a lever sticking out the floor, that when pulled makes a nice clunk and enables it to drive over the worst terrain imaginable.

It will be the dealer backup on which this thing lives or dies. The British car industry is full of two blokes in a shed churning out a car but the bit afterwards is usually a flop.

LOL, that marketing film is full of propaganda, you really think Defenders used a monoque chassis and beam axles for the reasons the bloke is describing? They were used because they were old technology and cheap! Loads of codswallop, every other 4x4 manufacturer has it wrong with independent axles and suspension and a mono chassis?

If a vehicle is coming with a BMW engine and more than likely some trick drivetrain as well, I honestly do not see it being sold for the cost of a family saloon car- a bog spec BMW 3 series starts at £29K.
A top spec hilux is what? 30 summat? A used defender about the same, these vehicles aren't really cars though so comparisons are a bit unfair, what would it cost to get a 70 series land cruiser here? Also a fortune, so not much wonder, it is the world we live in.

Go to an extreme off roading event and see how many independent axles and mono chassis you see.

It's a nice looking vehicle and I hope it succeeds, but what exactly is it's market segment? I get the uncomfortable feeling that by the time it's on sale it will be classed as a genetically modified dinosaur that doesn't quite fit anywhere. ☹

Looks great if you are still living in the 1980's. What market are they going for, price from what I hear is nearly double for a normal double cab and not sure its stylish for the yummy mummy Chelsea tractor set. Why couldn't they build something that farmers/builders want to buy at a price that is competitive, hope it drives better than the old ones and is more reliable than landvrover stuff

Looks A good practical unit, there will be a big market for them if they price it correctly, if it is more than 10k more than similar specced double cab they will be knackered before they start

Reminds me of the Santana which then became the Iveco Massif
