We had a go at barley last Friday and it wasn't thrashing and the straw was like silage so we've left it, it'll go as soon as the weather lets us a few wets and drys aways ripens it quickly.
Wheat is a fortnight away, spring barley may come first and spring triticale is still green from top to bottom.

Made a start in some Campus tonight, 8-9%
cutting well, but an uninspiring 3.5t/ha so far…

Winter barley all done this afternoon/evening, all 36ac of it.😂 I estimate I have 150% in the shed, of the total I sold last year, with fantastic looking Spring Barley crops yet to harvest.
I’ll be happier when the straw is all undercover tomorrow night, but certainly happy enough at this point, after last year’s arable disaster.

There seem to be a lot of people posting in the wrong thread! 🤣
It is the I’ve NOT started thread you know!🤣
Nearly got excited this afternoon with a nibble in barely fit rye but rain stopped play before I got my act together. At least it should be properly fit when I get back to it next week!
