Uppers are in chaos mode so no good looking for traditional norms as far as i can see.
Mild is coming but is it from the south and dry or is it from the Atlantic and full of lows?
anyone's guess so far.

if the jet stream stays down south and we have a dryer year the temperature will rise when the winds move into the south

sooner have cold dry then cold wet in april

all we need is 3 or 4 descent rains one in each month for the next 4 months

if the jet stream stays south,it will eventually warm a little, but instead of snow it Will rain.we want the jetstream over the hebrides for a good farming summer.

I want the jetsteam to fudge off. Sick of hearing about it being in the wrong place - seems like every place is wrong.

I am certain you will have alot more trouble if there was no jet stream!
This would more than liklely be a mild summers day if there was not jet in this country!
It has a massive impact on our weather often for the good that loosing would be devistating i think.

be carefull what you wish for!!

You would be lucky to create southerly winds with the jet stream to the south of the country. Its like a wall and would stop any real warm winds making this far.
as others have said best place for it is up there with the scots!! they love the jet stream up there!!!

yup, all due to the jet stream!
If it wasnt there they would be pine trees and thats about it.

Alas with the warmth of the jet tracking accross x hundreds of miles of water you will get rain also.

jetstream is a an erratic ribbon of air flowing west to east the Gulf Stream is part of the North Atlantic drift.
A warm oceanic ribbon of water that skirts our western coasts.
they are both like chalk and cheese when it comes to influencing our weather.

If the jet stream stays put, what are the prospects for this summer?, as the jet stream has taken 18 months or more to get where it is, I'm guessing it will take just as long to return home?
Hope I'm wrong but prospects look grim in the medium term......please contradict me with other views.
