The last horse man.

I love the Suffolk Punch horses. I'm no horseman at all, but I do love to see those Suffolks.

Watching the muck spreading video puts me in mind of something I often see. There are loads of blocks of land in Warwickshire farmed by farmers who are based away at their own place. These blocks usually have a tumbledown building or two. The fields nearest the buildings are often the most fertile and occasionally need less lime than others and I've always thought that if you had to drag the muck out across the fields with a horse on a dank winters day, you wouldn't go any further than you absolutely had to!

Often see that here too. The fields where the cows went to in winter, or where they could spread downhill and get back up empty.

Never really thought about the hard work it is and was for the horses guess they make it look like a good living on the dvd working with the horses wonder if the older guy in the dvd is still on the go seams like a character wonder if his grandson went on to farm with the horses any one no when it was filmed? Always like watching programs like this any one recommend any more or any videos on YouTube?
The book came out in 2001.Fairly sure John Dodd is still going strong, but will be well in his 80s now,or maybe 90.The younger guy is his son in law, married to his daughter Francis.I think his own son died from leaukemia as a teenager in the 70s.His grandson wallops at Hexham mart part time.Salt of the earth type people.
